United For Tales

Continued Impressions of Tales of Graces f

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all enjoying this wonderful gem of a game as I know I am. First off, I need to take a moment to sincerely thank Bandai-Namco for bringing this wonderful game to the States. Me and a couple friends have already purchased copies and have been playing through it, as if you obviously can’t tell from my impressions of the childhood arc, which I have since completed. It was definitely quite the experience, I was so glad that it wasn’t just a quick 10-minute scenario that rushed you through or just flashbacks implemented into the game.

Simply put, it was actually quite well thought out, and believable. Asbel, the main character, definitely showed what a couragious person he was, and actually acted like how a normal kid in his age group (11 in the childhood arc) now I am on to chapter 2, where Asbel is now 18. Already I can tell it’s going to be quite an emotional storyline here, just as emotional, if not more so than the childhood arc. I haven’t gotten very far yet, but I will continue playing as soon as I wrap up a few things for the night. :) I am looking forward to keeping you all posted, I really want to play this game from start to finish.

Impressions of Tales of Graces f

Well, today is a special day. Tales of Graces f has finally come, and yessirree, I snagged my copy of the game. Recall how I said I was going to post my first impressions of the game? I meant what I said. Of right now, I have played the crap out of it, I had to take a few breaks to get something to eat, and of course to help my dad out whom is beginning a long road to recovering from surgery. However, aside from that, I’d been playing the game nonstop between that. It is so good!

Did it live up to the hype? Suffice it to say, yes it did. So far I am still on the childhood portion of the story, I won’t get into too much detail about it as I wish for you all to discover this amazing journey for yourself, but I really like the characters thus far and the story doesn’t disappoint either. I especially like Asbel, the main character, he is very outspoken and already demonstrates that he has the heart of a lion with the loyalty to match.

Graphically it looks awesome, details a plenty in both the towns and the world map. Very bright, very colourful, everything is to scale and plenty to see and do. Without a doubt very astonishing I feel, and considering this is an up-rezzed Wii game, it’s all the more impressive just looking at the whole thing from the get go. It helps that the bonus PS3 theme looks fabulous and changes everything, including the font, to a Graces-esque approach. It’s totally a keeper.

So far, I have to say Tales of Graces f has made bringing this site to life a worthwhile experience from concept to completion, to evolution. I pray this game continues to sell well from here on out so Tales of Xillia Complete, and (not holding my breath, but would love to see it happen anyway) Tales of Vesperia PS3 come to the shores of North America, South America and Europe.

Tomorrow is Tales Tuesday

It’s hard to believe it, where has the time gone? We at UFT have been pumped for so long about both Tales of the Abyss 3DS (wonderful game BTW) and now tomorrow is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Tales Tuesday as I’ve decided to call this glorious day to honor the release of what I am sure is going to be one of the best RPGs around. You guessed it, Tales of Graces f. We’ve waited SO long for this moment, and now it’s here.

Does everyone here have their game paid in full? I know I do, and come tomorrow morning after taking care of some business, I am heading right over to snag myself that preorder copy. I heard some of the voice work, and it’s awesome, just about perfect even. I am so looking forward to seeing it all for myself on my HDTV, for what is apparently an up-rezzed Wii game (the original Tales of Graces was released on the Wii in Japan FYI) it looks amazing, characters move naturally, environments are bright and colourful, battles are fast and chaotic, etc.

Yes, I can tell this is going to be a total win. I can’t wait. I’ll be posting my first impressions of the game post haste upon getting my copy. Cheers!

Tales of Graces f: Co-op Walkthrough

Graces f is Almost Here

Hey everyone, it appears Tales of the Abyss 3DS has actually done relatively well for itself, while not nearly as high with the numbers as one would hope, the fact that buzz was generated for the game itself speaks volumes right there. The Tales fanbase is what made it all happen, we are literally being “graced” (pun intended) with the opportunity to show BN what we’re made of next week.

Has everyone pre-ordered Tales of Graces f for the PS3? If not, do so, it’s coming next week. 3/13/12, hard to believe it’s almost here. From what I have seen, the game looks incredible. Looks like everything was upscaled to PS3 quality. Simply put, the game looks badass! If we want to ensure that future Tales games arrive in the States, we owe it to ourselves to finally put our money where our mouth is, and buy the hell out of this game!

Tales of the Abyss 3DS is now officially out

Hello everyone, and a belated happy v-day to you all.  I would’ve posted here yesterday, but I’ve been enjoying the crap out of Tales of the Abyss 3DS. The game is almost the same as one can remember it, translation and voices are completely in tact, but there are a couple tweaks that I’ve noticed that actually make this version considerably more enjoyable than the PS2 original.

Number one is the loading times, which are markedly improved to the point of being almost practicallly non-existant. It makes for a seemless experience. Number two is the 3D and the way it’s implemented actually gives the game some depth. I’m amazed, this game made it over from the PS2 with everything in tact from what I’ve seen, not a single thing was lost.

Now that the game is here, I think it’s time for us all to open our wallets and purchase this wonderful gem, for those who haven’t bought themselves a 3DS yet, I would highly suggest doing so. This wonderful game and a few more I can think of will make your investment worthwhile. I guarantee, you won’t be disappointed. For those who have made the purchase, I truly hope you’re enjoying this gem as much as I am.

Abyss 3DS’s time is almost here

It’s been out in Europe for a while now, but Abyss 3DS is just about to come to the US in a couple weeks. Why not do the UFT crew a favor and promote the living daylights out of this badboy, and preorder it for yourself and a couple buddies? It’d give them a great game to play, and one that I am sure they’d cherish if they love RPGs. It’s times like these that I am grateful to Bandai-Namco for giving the Tales series another shot in the US and Europe. I already have my copy of the game paid in full BTW, can’t wait to get it!

Also, in other news, you’ll all be pleased to know that this website’s servers and domain have been paid in full, UFT is sticking around baby, yeah! Times like these I am grateful for. If you’ve been thinking of doing so, feel free to join the forums and add to the discussion at hand. :) We’re always welcoming new members to the fold, whether you’re a long time fan of the series, or someone who wants to find out what makes the Tales games so special for the first time, feel free to pop in and join the discussion. I promise, we won’t bite.

Anyway, I really hope to see you all join and post in the forum, and don’t forget, Tales of the Abyss 3DS is coming soon to the US, 2/14 baby, don’t forget it!

Focusing on Marketing Graces f

Hello everyone, I hope your Christmas and New Years’ celebrations were wonderful, that all the gift wrapping kicked some booty, and that you rang in the new year in style. Anyway, it’s now 2012 and the eventual US release date for Tales of the Abyss 3DS as well as the release date for Tales of Graces f in the US and EU is inching closer, and we are now brewing up ideas of how to start promoting the Tales series in the US and EU again.

I encourage any who want to join UFT to do so, and start offering suggestions on how to go about doing this, I really, really want to see the Tales series do well in the US and get the treatment it so rightfully deserves. I am also going to take the time to address something else as well, the disparity in the fanbase. I am noticing people, in particular on GameFAQs, and the Tales series forums, saying stuff about “Wait for Xillia” and “sales of Graces f won’t matter”, this is not true in the slightest. The very future of this wonderful series being released overseas virtually DEPENDS on sales from both Abyss 3DS and Graces f.

Now could BN do a better job of promoting the series? Oh absolutely, but it’s up to us too, if we don’t promote enough, then guess what? Xillia will never come, nor will any other Tales series games. If we really want this wonderful series to continue to be released overseas, we need to set aside our rage, differences, and indifferences, and support what’s been given to us. Let’s get rockin’ on the marketing ideas, one fan in particular suggested using the SwapNote feature of the 3DS to encourage folks to “Get ToTA 3DS”, and then once ToTA3DS hits the US (it’s already out in EU) I am going to switch it to “Get GracesF PS3” on mine. Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful day, and I encourage you all to promote, promote, promote!

————————————-

I want to add that I personally don’t have a PS3 (yet). As I know this is another common argument amongst the fans, I just want to say that even though I don’t have a PS3, I still pre-ordered the game yesterday.

You may think buying a system for one game (even though I have several games I’d like to play on it) is a ridiculous idea, but in this case it is 100% worth it. Even if you’re not able to play it right away, your purchase of the game still contributed to sales and as shallow as it is THAT IS ALL NAMCO CARES ABOUT. You want Xillia? You want any other Tales game after it? You’re going to have to step it up as a fan of the series and BUY THE GAME!

Tales Of Graces:f Trailer - “Friendship” (by NamcoBandaiGames)

I present to you the reason why we need to band together as one once again!

It’s Time

The time has come my friends, Bandai-Namco has finally begun to prepare for the US and EU releases of Tales of Graces F for the PS3. We now, more than ever, need to begin to band together for the sake of the series’ overseas release. We all banded together once before, we need to do so again.

I encourage everyone who truly wants to support the series, to register with UFT and post on the forums. With the massive overhaul basically complete, there is no reason not to now. I kindly ask of you, set aside any grudges you have for now, and let us all unite as one once again for the sake of future releases of this wonderful series.
